A FAST-FOOD branch is supporting young football stars of the future.

Blackstones Juniors FC received £3,000 from the Peterborough franchise of McDonalds to spend on coaching.

Franchisee Matt Jarrett has supported the club for the last two years. His previous donations have been spent on coaching, staff training and Criminal Records Bureau checks for 15 coaches to allow them to work at the club. He has also provided staff and food for the club’s annual tournaments and medals for the end of season presentations.

Mr Jarrett said: “I’m honoured to be able to help the club’s development.

“Blackstones Juniors FC provides a superb football education for the local community and hopefully this donation will help it to sustain the opportunity for safe football within Stamford for many years to come.”

Team coach Justin Osbourne was delighted with the donation.

He said: “Matt’s incredibly generous donation is a great help to Blackstones Juniors FC. With the money we can continue to educate our coaches to the highest standard and teach the children the best possible skills.”
