A MAN has arrived back safely in the UK after an epic charity cycle ride from London to Paris.
Mike Shattock, 40, of Truesdale Gardens, Langtoft, cycled nearly 300 miles from the Royal Hospital of Neuro-Disability in Putney to the Champs Elysees in Paris.
He set off on Wednesday and arrived in Paris early on Friday evening. He spent the weekend watching some of his cycling companions taking part in the Paris Marathon on Sunday before returning last night.
The cycle ride was the first of three charity challenges in aid of the hospital, which is caring for his wife Sam who has brain damage after suffering a cardiac arrest last year.
Mike hopes to raise £10,000 from the challenge, called the Yellow Beetle Challenge, and has already raised nearly £5,000.
