South Kesteven District Council’s chairman presented a cheque to charity on behalf of his late predecessor.

Coun Ray Wootten handed over £1,349.40 to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in Skegness. The money was raised by Coun Reg Howard, from Market Deeping, during his year in office before he died in April.

Coun Wootten said: “I am sure Reg would be comforted to know that his charity efforts will go towards helping our local lifeboat station at Skegness.”
