HAIL, rainstorms and glorious sunshine were all on the menu in Morcott today (Monday) where Walnut Tree Farm in Station Road hosted 170 villagers.

The day started at the White Horse pub where everyone met up and sang the National Anthem among other celebration songs and then headed to the farm where they enjoyed a two course meal. Each person brought a dish and it was shared out among the village.

This afternoon everyone there were games and tea and cakes were served.

Joint organisers Sharon Walkler and Rona Towell were delighted with the days events despite the changeable weather.

Rona said: “We were expecting about 100 people at the most. We have had to borrow tables and chairs from Wing.”

Sharon added: “We have been utterly overwhelmed by the response.”
