LITTLE furry friends were out in numbers at the Rutland Ferret Show at the weekend.

More than 200 ferrets and their owners took part in Rutland Ferret Club’s first ever show in the county, which was held at the Scout and Guide Hut in Grampian Way, Oakham, on Sunday.

The animals entered into a range of categories, including best male and best female. Prizes included rosettes and bags of ferret food.

The event also raised funds for Three Shires Ferret Rescue and Welfare.

Rutland Ferret Club chairman Lisa Southernwood said: “It was fantastic and everybody won something which was great. Everyone who came along had a wonderful day and it will be the first of many shows.”
