A celebration has been held to mark the 100 year anniversary of a the Bourne branch of the Mothers’ Union.

On Wednesday last week about 70 people joined in the Bourne branch’s celebrations with a church service and tea.

Father Chris Atkinson led the Eucharist and thanksgiving service in the Bourne Abbey Church where a special kneeler was also dedicated. Our picture shows branch member Ann Northen with the kneeler which she
embroidered to mark the 100th
anniversary.

After the service, a buffet tea was enjoyed where a special cake was cut by the group’s four longest serving members.

Mothers’ Union is an international Christian charity that seeks to support families.
