A NEW outdoor store has opened its doors in Stamford.
Mountain Warehouse has moved into the unit which was occupied by Bon Marche in High Street and opened on Thursday last week
Manager Stephen Harrison said: “We had a very busy first weekend and the town was very vibrant and busy. It feels very good to have opened. It was a lot of hard work but worth it.”
The news is not so good for several shops which have closed in the town.
Vodafone in High Street, Allure Gifts in St Mary’s Hill, TGUK Windows in Scotgate, and clothes shop 9A St George’s Square have all closed.
Clinton Cards in Stamford is due to close after its parent company went into administration. A sale is on in store but administrators Zolfo Cooper have not given a closure date.
Clinton Cards in the Burghley Centre, Bourne, will stay open.
Clarks in Red Lion Square, Stamford, will close for three and a half weeks from June 23 for a refurbishment.
The shop will be given a brand new look and will have a new children’s department.
A sale will be held before it shuts, and again once it reopens on July 19.
