FIRE crews rescued a dog that had been stuck in a rabbit hole for 24 hours.
Muppet, a Jack Russell, went missing on Tuesday last week in a field near Allexton.
Fire crews were called on Wednesday by the dog’s owner, who lives in the village, after he saw another dog scratching at a rabbit hole.
A technical rescue team used specialist equipment designed to find people underground by detecting sound to locate Muppet within 20 minutes.
The team dug down more than 5ft to find the dog, who was reunited with his grateful owner.
