A museum is calling for residents and history groups to help it mark 100 years since the start of the First World War.
Rutland County Museum, in Catmose Street, Oakham, is preparing to hold an exhibition to commemorate the anniversary and is asking groups in the county about the impact of the war in Rutland to help put it together.
Residents are also being asked if they have any personal memories they would like to share of the war, or whether they remember their friends and relatives talking about their experiences. The museum is also welcoming photographs or objects relating to the war that could be loaned or donated for the special programme which will be held from 2014 to 2018.
People can contact the museum by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org or writing to Rutland County Museum, Catmose Street, Oakham, Rutland. For more information call 01572 758440.
