An acoustic music night is being held at an Uppingham pub to raise money for a group of cyclists taking on the John O’Groats to Land’s End challenge for charity.

About 20 musicians are expected to play during the music night at the Royal Oak in Queen Steet, on Wednesday starting at 8pm.

The 11 day bike ride by Ticknall Riders supported by the Coalville Wheelers will raise money for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, Cardiac Risk in the Young, Cancer Research at the QE Hospital Birmingham and for Dame Catherine Harpur’s School. The free music night, which relies on donations, is just one of the ways the riders are raising money. There will also be a raffle drawn on Wednesday for a £50 bar tab at the Royal Oak.
