FAMILIES gathered for a giant picnic in Stamford this weekend.

The Stamford, Bourne and the Deepings branch of national parent charity NCT held a cheeky monkeys tea party on the Recreation Ground on Saturday.

More than 50 families attended the event which featured a hook-a-duck, splat the rat, and a guess the number of Lego bricks in the jar competition, as well as a baby and toddler yoga demonstration and face painting.

The event raised about £200 for the charity.

Branch coordinator Lucy Bateson said: “We were lucky with the weather and really pleased with the turnout.

“The main focus for us was to make it a fun day and a great social event for new parents.”
