STUDENTS have designed four Christmas cards to help an animal charity.

Mutt’s Nutts is a small charity based in Oakham and Stamford helping to find homes for rescue dogs and assisting other animal welfare causes.

It asked students at New College Stamford on a foundation degree course in illustration to design Christmas cards to promote the charity as part of their course.

Tim Walker from Walkers Bookshop in Stamford helped choose the winning designs alongside charity representatives last week. The winning cards were designed by Timothy Crofts and Sally Caulter.

Spiegl Press in Stamford will print the cards and the students will also have an opportunity to help in the printing process.

Mr Walker praised the high standard of designs and said the decision to select four cards had been difficult.

The cards will be launched at Walkers Bookshop in High Street, Stamford, on October 18, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm and everyone is welcome to attend. The cards will be available to buy on the night.
