Bowlers new and old enjoyed an open day to recruit new members ahead of the forth coming season.

More than 50 people attended the annual coffee morning event held at Bourne Town Bowls Club on the Abbey Lawn.

Secretary Kate Exton said: “It all went very well. We had a very good turn out.

“As a club we are always looking for news members.

“It was a successful day because we have one or two new members and a few more who have expressed an interest.”

Mrs Exton said people are welcome of all ages and with any level of experience. There are people at the club who are willing to teach new bowlers. After the coffee morning a talk was given by club president Mike Northern outlining the plans for the season.
