New memorial to the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment to be unveiled

A NEW memorial to the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment is to be unveiled.

The regimental Old Comrades Association has raised £22,000 for the monument in Sobraon Park, Lincoln.

The Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire Tony Worth and Major General Porter of The Royal Anglian Regiment, will be at the unveiling of the monument designed by architect Mike Credland, at 11.45am on October 6 as part of an annual reunion.

The Stamford branch will be parading for the last time before joining with Spalding in 2013.

The reunion is open to all former members of the regiment. Any old comrades who wish to take part in the parade should meet in Cambrai Road at 11.15am.
