A NEW adventure play area has opened in Little Bytham.

The ground at The Spinney, in Creeton Road, was officially opened by members of Bythams Woodland Trust and pupils at the Bythams Primary School on Friday.

The project was funded by the Big Lottery Fund as part of the Community Spaces programme, managed by Groundwork UK.

The area includes £50,000 worth of new play equipment, which features a slide, space net, hillside walkway, tree top look out and spider’s web climbing frame. The tape was cut to open the area by the school’s head boy and girl Harry Daniels and Anastasia Turner, both 11.

Trust chairman Dr Patrick Candler said: “My thanks go to all the people who have helped make this happen. The trust will now be able to provide a much wider range of play equipment for the over fives in what is a really wonderful, wild adventure play setting.”
