A NEW sensory garden was opened on Friday last week at Willoughby School.

Supporters of the Bourne school, including local firms and organisations, parents, past and present, and their families and friends together with various individuals gathered for the unveiling of the new garden. Headteacher Adam Booker said: “It was a pleasure to show our supporters how we’ve benefited from their hard work and expertise, and their donations to provide this great space.”

The sensory garden is accessible to all pupils, allowing those with the most complex needs to access the outside areas.

It is a space designed to be explored using all of the senses, in a motivating and fun way.

Mr Booker said: “It’s been a marvellous morning and a joy to be able to thank all concerned for their help and terrific fundraising efforts.

“We are privileged to enjoy such goodwill and wonderful support; it’s been a brilliant community effort.”
