Some of the most elderly people in Bourne have rallied to support people in need in their community.

Residents, their families, and staff at Cedars Nursing Home, in Church Walk, Bourne have collected food to donate to the town’s foodbank.

Line manager at Cedars Maureen Hasbury said: “We had a talk from a volunteer from Bourne Foodbank and were interested to get involved because we are always looking for a way to play a part in the community.

“We got an excellent response to our appeal. We are very fortunate at the Cedars that we have such good relatives and staff who always get behind us when we run events.”

The nursing home also raised £100 with a raffle.
