An adventurer is ready for her next challenge after booking her flight to Japan.

Sarah Outen, 27, from Oakham, had to cut short her attempt to travel round the world using manpower alone in June when her boat capsized in the Pacific Ocean.

But she has been training hard for a second attempt and this week booked a flight to Japan. The former Stamford High School pupil will try to row across the Pacific again in her new boat, Socks, in March next year.

Today (Monday) she tweeted: “I’ve just booked flights out to Japan for mid-March, ready for Chapter 2 of the Pacific. Woop woop and woop!

“Stoked to have the ongoing support of our L2L sponsors for Chapter 2 - it is a huge mission kitting out Happy Socks and every bit helps.

“We are also happy to be welcoming on board new sponsors. It is a huge team effort!”

Sarah is taking delivery of her new boat today.
