A COFFEE morning raised money for the annual Women’s Day of Prayer in Oakham.
Women from churches in and around Oakham join forces for the day which is held on the first Friday in March each year.
The coffee morning which was held on Wednesday in St Joseph’s Church, Oakham, raised about £70 which will go towards the day.
Secretary Pauline Drury of Meadowfield, Oakham, said: “Each year women from a different country write the service and next year it will be Malaysia so there will be a Malay theme.
“The point of the coffee morning is to raise funds and to get women talking about the day and meeting each other.”
A cake stall was held and teas and coffees were served.
A “discovery day” about the event will be held on January 29 for anyone who is interested in taking part in the day of prayer.
