The funeral of Mary Jackson, 78, formerly of Drift Gardens, Stamford, took place at Marholm Crematorium, Canon Haydn Smart officiating.
Daughter of Charles and Edith Troth, she was educated at St John’s School and Fane Secondary School, Stamford. Her mother died when she was eight years old.
Mrs Jackson worked as a shop assistant at Deeres shoe shop and Co-op furniture shop before becoming a kitchen assistant at Stamford School, where she worked for nearly 30 years.
She became an accomplished dress-maker after attending a dress-making course in Stamford when she was younger.
She also enjoyed reading, especially books about Stamford.
She loved chatting with friends and family, watching TV, shopping in Peterborough, and holidays in England, Germany and Spain.
She leaves her daughter Claire, who she had lived with in Gainsborough Road, Stamford, for the last three years; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her eldest daughter, Janet Raines, pre-deceased her.
