RETIRED JCB driver, Aubrey Dumford, of Johnson Road, Uppingham, died at his home aged 84.
He was the son of Margaret and Harold Dumford and was educated at Lyddington School.
He worked as a JCB driver for Jelsons for 42 years.
From 1945 - 1948 he served with the 13th Field Survey Sqdn Royal Engineers as a driver for the bomb disposal unit.
He was once a member of the Caravan Club and enjoyed working on his allotment, cycling and being outdoors.
Canon Rachel Watts officiated at the funeral service at Kettering Crematorium.
Bereaved is his widow Midge, who was unable to attend the funeral due to illness.
