THE funeral service for Dorothy Dixon, of Emlyns Gardens, Stamford, took place at Christ Church, Stamford, the Rev Peter Hart officiating. Cremation at Marholm followed.
Mrs Dixon died at the Van Geest Unit, Stamford, aged 95.
Daughter of Charles and May Matthews, she was educated at All Saints’ School, Stamford, and worked at Hoskins Temperance Hotel, Barn Hill, Stamford, until her marriage to Fred Dixon, in 1937.
She loved dancing, and with her husband was a member of Blackstones Social Club for many years, when it was in Ryhall Road.
She leaves her husband, who she had been married to for 74 years, sons Terry and John and daughter Linda.
