THE funeral service for Grace Compton took place at Browne’s Hospital Chapel, Stamford, followed by cremation at Marholm, the Rev Michael Ruff officiating.
Mrs Compton, formerly of Browne’s Hospital, Stamford, died at Tallington Care Home, aged 91.
Daughter of Wright and Grace Bowring and widow of Frederick Compton, when she was younger she ran a florist shop and later became landlady of the Roebuck Inn.
She also worked as a deli manager, was a hospital cleaning manager and also an operative for Newage engineering.
She was a resident at Browne’s Hospital for more than 10 years and enjoyed spending time with her family, including her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves her son David and daughter Elizabeth.
