THE funeral of Janet Elsmore, 71, of High Street, Rippingale, took place at St Andrew’s Church, Rippingale, Father David Creasey officiating. M Harris was organist.
Daughter of Arthur and Ida Hawkins, she was educated at schools in Wolverhampton and the Polytechnic, studying advanced cookery. She also obtained certificates in piano studies.
She worked at the electric construction company ECC as a draughtswoman before becoming a post lady in Uffington and lunchtime supervisor at Casterton College and Little Bytham Primary School.
She loved being with her family and grandchildren and also enjoyed cooking, knitting, cross-stitch, holidays and caravanning.
Bereaved are her widower William and children Margaret, John and Victoria.
Family mourners included: William Elsmore (widower), John and Lorna Elsmore (representing grandchildren Olivia and Isabelle), Margaret Creasey, Charlotte and Thomas Creasey, Anne and Keith Alcock.
