RETIRED teacher, Jean Wright, of Spencers Road, Ketton, died at the Priory Court Nursing Home, Stamford, aged 77.
She was the daughter of Gladys and Alex Corbett and was educated at Richmond Girls High School, and Bingley Teacher Training College.
A PE teacher, she taught at Dormanstown Secondary Modern School, Catmos Secondary Modern School and Charles Read School, Corby Glen.
She was a member of the Rock Tennis Club and Casterton Badminton Club and enjoyed all sports. Her hobbies included knitting, painting, drawing, card making, and tapestries. She also helped sew part of Ketton Church Millennium tapestry.
Widow of Douglas Wright, she leaves her daughter Heather. Her son Ian pre-deceased her.
The funeral service took place at St Mary the Virgin Church, Ketton, the Rev Andrew Rayment officiating.
