THE funeral service for John Ulyatt, 84, of Kingsway, Bourne, took place at Bourne Abbey Church, cremation at Marholm followed. The Rev Peter Lister officiated.
The eldest son of Norman and Ruth Ulyatt, he attended Bourne Abbey School.
From 1944 - 1948 he served with the RAF as a radar engineer, in India and Singapore.
On returning to Bourne he worked for E Pearce and Company, at North Street, and later transferred to the Abbey Road shop. Jubilee Radio sold the business to John in 1970 where he remained in business until retirement in 1998.
His many achievements included building his own house in the 1950s and later building a large swimming pool in the back garden.
Sadly in later years ill health made him less active and he did not get out and about much.
He leaves his widow, Phyllis, sons, Peter, Alan and Michael, eight grandchildren and one great grandson.
