LILIAN (Lil) Walker, of Church Street, Langham, died at Rutland Care Village, aged 93.
Daughter of John and Elizabeth Walker and sister to Ernest, Benjamin, Norman and Raymond, Lil was born in Langham. She attended the primary school until the age of nine when her mother died and she was sent to live with her aunt and uncle in Romford. She returned home aged 11 to look after her father and brothers. As well as looking after the family and home, she helped on the family small holding. Lil was also a Corah’s outworker and also spent many years working at Rutland County Museum, a job she loved.
She enjoyed being with her family and her hobbies included playing tennis and tending her lovely garden.
The funeral service took place at Langham Church, Nick Holford officiated and Connie Beadman was organist. Donations were divided between Langham Church and Rutland Memorial Hospital.
