Marion Winton

THE funeral service for Marion Winton, of Casterton Road, Stamford, took place at St Georges Church, Stamford, Pastor Paul Meiklejohn officiating.

Marion died at Peterborough City Hospital, aged 94. She leaves children Andrew, Marion and Dorothy and their families.

Marion was born in Edinburgh and had three brothers. She set up a hairdressing business in 1944 in Stockbridge, Edinburgh, retiring in the mid 70s.

She held many posts within the Elim Pentecostal Church in Dean Street, Edinburgh, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years and distributor for the Elim magazine.

Marion also held prayer groups in her home, which was open at all times for those who requested prayer, counselling, comfort and guidance, plus feeding. She was a firm favourite with the students.

Marion moved to Stamford to live with her daughter and son-in-law eight years ago and enjoyed the fellowship at the Life Church, Stamford.

She held a prayer meeting in her home once a fortnight and attended dinner every month at the Full Gospel Businessman’s Fellowship, held in a local hotel. She also attended many evenings of fellowship at the home of Pauline and Peter Ellis.

Marion touched the lives of all she met and left that little something with each one. A truly unique lady whose life was an inspiration and blessing to all who met her.
