THE funeral service for Patricia (Pat) Truscott, of Loves Lane, Empingham, took place at Marholm Crematorium. Mrs Truscott died at Rutland Memorial Hospital, Oakham, aged 75, after a short illness bravely fought, with her family by her side.
She was the daughter of Augustus and Marion Finch and was educated at Ripley Infant School, and St Bedes School, Send, Ripley.
She met her future husband Fred at a dance in Ripley and they were married in St Mary’s Church, Ripley in 1957. They made their first home in Woking, and had children, Caroline, Deborah, Colin and Paul. The family enjoyed many holidays and weekends at their holiday home in Selsey Bill.
They moved to Stamford and Pat followed her husband’s love for football, when she assisted him in the running of the Stamford YMCA Football Club. She was also a keen follower of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
She worked as care assistant at the Red House Nursing Home and later at Casterton Hill Filling Station.
On their retirement Pat and Fred settled in Empingham and enjoyed the company of their children, 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Known as Nanny Perfect, she was deeply loved and will be missed for all the things that made her so special.
Bereaved are her widower Frederick, daughters Caroline and Debbie and sons Colin and Paul.
