ST JAMES’ Church, Castle Bytham was packed to capacity for the Service of Thanksgiving for Trevor Robinson, the Rev Sue Evans officiating. Organist was Hilary Lewthwaite and the church choir was in attendance.
Tributes were paid by Mary Adkin and Lesley Clifford on behalf of Steve and Richard Clifford. Interment followed at Grantham Crematorium, and the coffin was carried by his son Mark and his grandsons James, Karl and Stuart.
Trevor was born in Hull to Francis and Leah, along with an elder sister, Barbara and a younger sister and brother Stella and Michael. The family moved to Lincolnshire where he met and married Sheila. They moved to Castle Bytham where they spent their lives together. They had two children, Mark and Sue.
Trevor was area manager with Marsham Tyre Company for 30 years and then became a driving instructor with the A1 School of Motoring, where he remained for 25 years.
His passion was his boat moored on the Nene or in the summer on the Norfolk Broads.
Family mourners included his wife Sheila, son Mark and wife Jan, daughter Sue and husband Jim, grandchildren Emma and Mick, James and Carly, Karl and Helen, Karen and Gary, Stuart and Lisa. Great grandchildren Jessica, Rebecca and Kieron, Freya and Reuben, Jordon and Jack, Theo. His sisters and brother Barbara and Ray Perkins, Stella Barton, Michael and Sue Robinson.
Sympathisers at the church included many friends and representatives from Elton Boat Club, Rutland County Golf Club, Castle Bytham Midsummer Fair Committee and the local Conservative Association.
