THE funeral service for Vera Rippin, of Whitefriars Care Home, Stamford, took place at Marholm Crematorium, the Rev Mark Warwick officiating.
Mrs Rippin died at Peterborough City Hospital, aged 94.
Daughter of Annie and Herbert Harper, she was educated at Stamford High School. During the Second World War she worked for Mirrlees Blackstones and before retirement for St Gilbert’s School and the Garden House Hotel, Stamford.
A member of All Saints Church, Stamford, she was a volunteer at Stamford Hospital, Whitefriars Nursing Home, Meals on Wheels and Stocken Prison.
An avid reader, she also loved to travel around the world, walking and watching concerts and films.
Widow of George Rippin, she leaves her daughters Sheila and Grace and grandchildren Matthew, Connor, Joshua and Sophie.
