THE funeral service for William (Golly) Spencer, of Digby Court, Bourne, took place at Marholm Crematorium, Mr Ernest Fytch officiating. Mr Spencer a retired farm labourer and tractor driver, died at Peterborough City Hospital, aged 94.
He was the son of Louise and George Spencer, of Kirkby Underwood and was educated at Kirkby Underwood School.
Mr Spencer served with the Home Guard during the Second World War and later in life enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, reading and watching TV.
A family man, he loved being with his two great grandchildren and was always happy to see them.
Widower of Evelyn he leaves his son Brian.
