A PET owner is delighted to have her cat home after he went missing for almost six weeks.

Vicki Redhead, 23, of Banks Crescent, Stamford, contacted the Mercury after her cat Oscar disappeared on Boxing Day.

More than a month went by without any news but last week a reader called Vicki to say she thought she had seen the three-year-old cat in the Casterton Heights estate.

Vicki went to look for Oscar on Friday but could not find him. But when she returned later that evening with her parents, Oscar ran out of the bushes looking bedraggled but otherwise well.

He is now back with Vicki and enjoying a few home comforts. Vicki said: “He is loving being home, he is being spoiled with tuna and chicken.

“I was very happy to find him, it was very emotional and it is lovely to have him back.”

Vicki thanked the woman who found Oscar and said a £150 reward was on its way to her.
