Oxbridge hopefuls attend open evening in Bourne

More than 60 pupils and their parents battled through snow and ice to attend Bourne Grammar School’s Oxbridge information evening.

The evening is designed to give pupils information about what Oxbridge has to offer and to find out what admissions tutors will be looking for.

Headteacher Jonathan Maddox said: “This was by far the largest turnout we have ever seen for this event with over 130 in the audience.

“It was a special pleasure this year to welcome a dozen students from several other schools who have applied to join our sixth form and who have Oxbridge ambitions.”

Presentations were made by Ashley Walters and Ed Sharpe, admissions officers at Lincoln College, Oxford and Christ’s College, Cambridge.
