A young fundraiser has been raising money to help fund his ambition to volunteer abroad for charity.

Ben Gwinnett, 19, from Stamford, started his fundraising campaign bag packing at Tesco in Stamford on Friday.

He raised £100 toward his £800 target for the trip he hopes to take in June with charity Restless Development.

Restless Development is a youth led charity, which offers volunteering opportunities in third world communities, to help people gain employment and earn livelihoods to break the poverty circle.

Along with bag packing, Ben will be taking part in a bike ride tomorrow around Rutland Water to help gain more sponsors for the charity.

Ben’s mother, Sue Gwinnett, has joined forces to help him raise the money. She said: “I think it’s a fantastic opportunity for him to go and help a great charity.”
