THE proceeds of a Christmas party have been handed over to charity.

Deepings Rangers Football Club Veterans organised the event, which took place on Saturday, December 18, in aid of the Bourne and Spalding branch of the Parkinson’s support group.

It raised £1,800 and a cheque was handed over to Parkinson’s representative Jessica Storer at the clubhouse in Outgang Road, Deeping St James.

Andy Tanner, who is a member of the committee and helped organise the event, said: “We chose the Parkinson’s group because one of our long-standing members suffers with the illness and we wanted to show our support.

“We regularly organise functions to raise money for good causes which are relevant to ourselves and we were really pleased with the money we raised.

“Jessica was very grateful and she spoke about what the money would raise.”

Andy thanked everyone who sponsored the party.
