Plans to build 46 homes in Bourne

PLANS to build 46 homes in Bourne have been submitted to South Kesteven District Council.

Linden Homes, which has already built 50 homes in South Road, Bourne, as part of the Red Hall Gardens development, has applied to build a further 46 two, three and four-bedroom homes as phase two of its plans.

The company, formerly Stamford Homes, had its plans to build 120 homes in the area rejected by the district council in 2006 due to highways concerns about access from South Road.

It then submitted plans for the first phase of 50 homes, which were approved in 2008.

Linden Homes now feels that it has addressed the highways concerns fully and has submitted an application to complete its initial project.

In order to do so, it has also applied to alter part of its plans for the first phase, adding another home and allowing better access to the site.

A Linden Homes spokesman said: “There is an application currently in to finish the front of the first phase that addresses some minor outstanding access issues, ie minor alterations to the original approved scheme.

“If granted, the second application for phase two will complete the development of Linden’s land holding and is possible as the access off South Road has now been addressed to the satisfaction of highways.”

The new plans include 13 two-bedroom affordable homes, two two-bedroom homes, 23 three- bedroom homes and nine four- bedroom homes.
