A SCOUT group celebrated a year of traditional values with a fancy dress party.

The 1st Pointon Baden-Powell Scouts were set up a year ago by group master Steve Warcup and now feature about 60 members.

The group is one of about 50 in the UK that focuses on the original values laid down by scouting founder Robert Baden-Powell more than 100 years ago.

Among the activities taught to Baden-Powell Scouts include making fire without matches or a lighter and setting up a bivouac shelter.

Group Master Steve said: “It has been phenomenal to go from a new group in a new area to 60 members. I can’t believe how successful it has been. The kids love the more traditional aspects.”
