A SCHEME to keep residents in Lincolnshire safer has been launched by police.
Lincs Alert builds on the previous ringmaster system by sending residents who have signed up alerts by e-mail, telephone or text messages at times to suit and provides community safety advice and crime reduction.
It works side-by-side with Neighbourhood Watch schemes and alerts people to crimes, such as scams which are deliberately targeting the elderly.
Insp Philip Baker, who is in charge of setting up the scheme, urged people to sign up.
He said: “All we need is a few moments of your time to fill in some brief details and you will then be all set to receive information that will help keep you and your neighbours safe. You will also be able to feed in any information that you might have previously thought was too trivial or not worth reporting to the police.
“We see this as very much a two way communication tool that both the police, and those we serve, can benefit from.”
