POLICE today (Thursday) confirmed they recovered 18 cannabis plants from a flat in Stamford following a drugs raid.

Officers removed the plants from the property in St Paul’s Street on Friday last week after executing a search warrant.

Philip Lethbridge, 28, from Bracknell in Berkshire, who regularly visits family members in Stamford, took photos of police removing the plants. He said: ”It’s not something you see every day in Stamford.

“There was a small crowd of people watching and we were just fascinated. It’s just not what you expect.”

A 53-year-old man was arrested in connection with the raid and released on bail pending further inquiries.
