Award for library’s heritage display

A NEW exhibition at Stamford Library has won an award.

The Discover Stamford attraction, which houses some of the artefacts from the former Stamford Museum in Broad Street, won a prize for best exhibition at this year’s Lincolnshire Heritage Awards.

Lincolnshire County Council is celebrating after scooping three awards. It also received awards for work at the Gainsborough Old Hall and Play at The Collection Museum in Lincoln.

Executive member for cultural services Eddy Poll (Con) said: “We’ve made a significant investment in these attractions over the past year and it’s great to have our efforts recognised like this.

“These three projects have all helped bring history to life for visitors, showcasing the Lincolnshire story like never before.”

Discover Stamford opened in January, following the closure of the museum in June last year.
