Bourne MP Nick Boles’ plea to party

BOURNE’s MP has told the Conservative Party to focus on the concerns of ordinary people.

Nick Boles told delegates at a fringe meeting at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester they will need to convert people who voted Labour, Liberal Democrat or Scottish National Party in last year’s elections.

He said: “The main reason why these people, particularly those who flirted with the idea of voting Conservative, didn’t do so is down to two things; they thought we were too right-wing and they didn’t feel that we were on the side of ordinary people.”

Mr Boles was recently named as one of the most promising MPs in a set of Top Trumps cards produced by Sky News.
