Bourne Town Council has urged community groups and charities to apply for grant funding.

The council has money available to give to charities, voluntary and community groups operating for the benefit of people in the parish.

There is also a fund available specifically for young people aged 11 to 18. This fund was set up after the demise of the Youth Centre management committee.

Mayor of Bourne Bob Russell said: “We see it as part of our function to assist where we can.

“I spoke over Christmas to one of the officers from the Salvation Army. I got the feeling that had he known funds were available he might have put one or two things forward. In the new year we are emphasising the fact that these funds are available.”
