A developer has outlined plans to build a business park and about 200 homes on land on the outskirts of Market Deeping.
Bourne-based Larkfleet Homes has submitted an application to develop land north of the Towngate Inn.
The firm has outlined its plans for the first phase of the development, which would include offices and industrial units.
Plans for the later phases, which will comprise about 200 homes, will be submitted in the next few weeks.
A Larkfleet spokesman said: “The development will provide flexibility for a range of uses to be accommodated at this gateway location into Market Deeping from the north. The aspiration is to provide high quality sustainable buildings that can accommodate local firms and those wishing to expand and grow.
“The plan is only in outline at this stage and it is not yet possible to say exactly how many buildings will be constructed or what types of businesses will occupy them.
“However, this is a modest scale development. The indicative layout shows two storey office buildings and single storey workshop buildings. Workshop buildings may incorporate mezzanine office accommodation. The workshop buildings will be of a similar size to the adjacent existing employment units at Spitfire Park.
“It is intended that the buildings forming the street frontage along Peterborough Road will be high quality two-storey office units. It is anticipated that the size of these buildings will be in keeping with large residential units.”
The site has been designated for employment use in South Kesteven District Council’s development plan.
The Larkfleet spokesman added: “We trust the development will help to fulfil a number of employment needs and bring a number of jobs to this area.”
Detailed reserved matters applications will have to be submitted at a later date.
