Former mayor Jane Kingman is back on Bourne Town Council

A WELL-KNOWN face has been co-opted onto a town council.

Former mayor Jane Kingman applied for the one seat available on Bourne Town Council’s west ward and was chosen for the role at an extraordinary meeting at the town hall on Tuesday evening.

Coun Kingman decided not to stand for the latest election in May because she was considering moving from the area but she has since made the decision to stay in Bourne.

There was another candidate, Bob Kelly, who had applied, but the town council voted unanimously in favour of co-opting Coun Kingman.
