AN MP met with a Government minister on Wednesday to discuss monitoring at a waste site.
East Northamptonshire MP Louise Mensch met with the minister responsible for planning in the Department for Communities and Local Government Bob Neill to discuss the East Northants Resource Management Facility in Stamford Road, King’s Cliffe.
An appeal against plans to dump low-level radioactive waste at the site was lost in the High Court in January.
Officers from the Environment Agency also attended the meeting between the two Conservative MPs, which was called by Mrs Mensch to check the correct monitoring was in place.
Mrs Mensch said: “The meeting with the minister was very constructive and he has agreed to write to me to outline the specifics of the additional monitoring available at King’s Cliffe.”
