South Kesteven District Council has fixed a phone problem caused by a high number of people called to buy resident’s parking permits for Stamford.

The permits to park in specified bays in Stamford town centre went on sale first thing this morning (Monday). But people quickly reported that phone lines were down and they were being met with a recorded message.

The council tweeted “We are currently experiencing issues with our phone lines, we are working to get this resolved asap. Apologies for any inconvenience.”

A follow-up tweet at 11.24am said: “The issues with our phone lines appear to now be resolved, we apologise for any inconvenience caused. Many thanks.”
