Stamford Town Council has launched a consultation on plans to improve seating in two key pedestrian areas.
The council wants to move the stone benches in Red Lion Square to Sheepmarket, and replace them with more comfortable wooden benches with back supports and arm rests. New bins and planters with evergreen shrubs would also be installed.
Town clerk Patricia Stuart-Mogg said: “Stamford Town Council would like to introduce some improvements to Red Lion Square, one of the town’s most notable features, making it a more comfortable space in which to sit and relax.
“However, before making these changes the council is keen to know if it’s what you want too and is giving you the chance to vote yes or no to its plans.”
She added: “The council feels that the square is under-used and is keen to receive suggestions and applications for its use Sundays to Thursdays.”
