A councillor has been given a new cabinet role.

Rutland county councillor Lucy Stephenson (Con), who represents the Uppingham ward, has been appointed portfolio holder for adult social care.

Council leader Roger Begy said: “Adult social care is one of the most important areas for the council and an area which requires focus for its future development.

“Lucy has proved herself as chair of the adult scrutiny panel and I look forward to welcoming her onto cabinet.”

Coun Stephenson is a new addition to the cabinet rather than a replacement, bringing the total membership to six.
