Engineers have begun work on installing technology that will bring superfast fibre broadband to towns and villages across Rutland by the end of September.
Fibre cables are being laid and new green cabinets are being put in place throughout the county, as part of the Digital Rutland project.
When connected the service will provide homes and businesses with download speeds of up to 80mbps.
The scheme is being run by Rutland County Council and BT. Deputy council leader Coun Terry King said it would soon be announced which parts of the county would be upgraded first and what speeds will be possible.
